DIY Growth Oil: Herbs And Seeds, The Toppings Of Your Formula

Think of herbs and seeds as the "nuts and toppings" in your growth oil recipe. They add richness, texture, and nutrients, taking your growth oil from basic to powerhouse. While your base oil is like the foundation and your essential oils add targeted benefits, herbs and seeds provide the nutrients your scalp needs to truly thrive.
By infusing your oil with herbs and seeds, you’re allowing their beneficial properties to slowly release into your formulation. This process is like steeping tea or marinating toppings into a dish—time is the secret ingredient that helps these powerhouses deliver their full potential.
For my nieces oils, I’m using The Rosemary, Sweet Fennel, and Fenugreek… Let’s explore why these three ingredients are the ultimate additions to your growth oil:
Rosemary: The "all-star" herb, rosemary is celebrated for stimulating scalp circulation, which encourages hair growth and prevents shedding. It’s like adding the crunchiest, most nutrient-packed nut to a recipe it stands out and makes everything better.
Sweet Fennel: Gentle and soothing, fennel is a balancing ingredient that nourishes the scalp, regulates oil production, and prevents dryness. It’s like the creamy topping that pulls the whole recipe together, ensuring every bite (or application) is well-rounded and effective.
Fenugreek Seeds: Packed with protein, iron, and vitamins, fenugreek is the secret to fortifying hair and promoting growth. It’s the hearty, nutrient-dense ingredient that gives your growth oil staying power—like the seeds or grains in a baked good that add strength and texture.
How to Infuse Your Growth Oil With Herbs and Seeds
Creating an infusion with these ingredients is simple but requires patience to draw out their full benefits. Here’s how:
Prepare Your Ingredients
Combine With Your Base Oil: Add your herbs and seeds to your chosen base oil…
Infuse: Let the mixture sit in a sealed jar for 2–4 weeks in a cool, dark place, shaking it gently every few days. This is where the "marinating" magic happens, allowing the oil to absorb all the goodness from your herbs and seeds.
